What Sets Our Speech & Language Therapy Services Apart?

Communication is one of life’s most important skills because it helps us connect to others and be understood. Speech and language skills are also foundational for academic success.

Our speech and language therapy programs address a variety of challenges through speech and language therapy.

The areas we address include:

Meet Our Speech and Language Specialist

Catie Palumbo | Speech & Language Pathologist

I have worked in the communication field for over ten years.

After working exclusively with Autistic children in a private setting as a Speech Assistant, I returned to graduate school to receive my Master of Education in Communication Disorders.  Following graduate school, I worked at a Bay Area charter school, supporting students with a range of needs.  During that time, I learned an immense amount about inclusion from a skilled group of special education educators.  My caseload included students with articulation and phonological disorders, language disorders, social pragmatic deficits, fluency, and voice disorders.

I continue to learn from my clients and value the trust we build as we teach their goals.

Answering Parents’ Top Questions About Speech & Language Therapy

  • An assessment of some sort is essential for uncovering the language skills that your child is struggling with and building our customized lessons. If you’ve already had an assessment done elsewhere, let’s discuss whether it provides the information needed to help your child succeed.

  • The exact skills depend on what your child needs. They may include but are not limited to appropriate pronunciation of words, socially appropriate verbal & nonverbal skills, phonological and phonemic awareness, morphology, and vocabulary building.

  • This type of assessment is typically offered by practices that are considered out-of-network providers. We will provide a Superbill with CPT codes that are often reimbursed to some extent for this service. You can then check with your insurance company to see whether they will cover part or all of the assessment.

Please see our Billing & Insurance page for additional information.
