ADHD Testing
Determine if ADHD is impacting your child’s success in school
What is ADHD?
ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects both children and adults. Kids with ADHD often struggle with maintaining attention, regulating their impulses, and managing hyperactivity.
Some common signs include:
Difficulty staying focused on tasks, Continually starting new tasks before finishing old ones, Impulsivity in decision-making, Forgetfulness, Poor organizational skills, Difficulty remaining still
Recognizing and understanding these signs is crucial for getting your child the help they deserve.
How We Assess ADHD?
Usually, as part of a psychoeducational evaluation, we assess whether ADHD is a factor in your child’s learning. This process helps us decide if a diagnosis of ADHD is appropriate and how it impacts their education. Our licensed educational psychologists conduct these evaluations. They examine students for learning differences, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and other factors as part of the comprehensive assessment. You might hear this type of assessment, also referred to as a school neuropsychological evaluation. The findings from this assessment inform the development of an intervention plan, support for IEP or 504 plans, and provide clarity for the child and family.
